THIS festive season will see Leeds West Yorkshire Playhouse transformed into the fantasy world of Narnia, as it brings to life CS Lewis’ classic tale.

The co-production between West Yorkshire Playhouse, Elliott & Harper Productions and Catherine Schreiber, will open on November 29 2017 and run until January 21 next year.

Directed by Olivier award nominee Sally Cookson this magical new production tells of four war time evacuees who discover an icy kingdom through the back of a mystical wardrobe.

Sally said: “Who doesn’t get excited by the idea that a humble wardrobe can be the door to another world?

“Whether you’re a grandparent or starting your first term at school, CS Lewis’ much loved fable has something for everyone.

“A fantasy world where it’s always winter but never Christmas, where fauns, beavers, and four plucky siblings, not to forget a very special lion, all help bring Spring back to Narnia and rid it of the terrorising White Witch.”
