A GROUP is providing a lifeline to vulnerable older people across Keighley and South Craven.
St Stephen's and Friends has enjoyed trips to venues including Keighley's Cliffe Castle Museum and the Toby Carvery.
The venture is part of the two-year Embrace Project, undertaken by Catholic Care.
It was launched in response to loneliness and isolation amongst vulnerable older people, including those with dementia, and is also aimed at their carers.
An older-men's breakfast club meets on Fridays at The Devonshire, in Skipton.
Embrace development worker, Helen Brand, said: "The project started in January at St Stephen's in Skipton and is proving very successful.
"It has brought people together from across the area and they're really enjoying it.
"Although it is being undertaken by Catholic Care, people do not have to be from the Church to take part."
