POLICE received 23 calls from the Oxenhope area during the last month, parish councillors were told at their latest meeting.

But members of Oxenhope Parish Council were informed that many of these calls related to one incident – a road traffic accident.

Police Community Support Officer Helen Wynn-Evans said most of the remainder were about loose animals and livestock or neighbour disputes.

She said a new PCSO has now been taken on to patrol the Worth Valley.

She added that she has passed on public complaints about the length of time it is taking some people to get through to call handlers on the 101 non-emergency number.
