OXENHOPE councillors raised no objections to outline plans to build two new detached homes next to West Shaw Farm, in West Shaw Lane.
They considered the proposals at their latest monthly meeting.
Councillor Peter McManus noted that the land involved is a brownfield site within green belt, while Cllr Derrick Hopkinson said in his view it should improve the look of the site.
Acting chairman Cllr David Ashcroft said while he understood this information is not available at outline stage, he would like the proposed buildings to be designed in an appropriate style if and when detailed plans are put forward.
A Bradford Council conservation officer's statement in response to the application says the current state of the land makes a "negative contribution" to the area.
He notes that new properties could enhance the land's appearance, so long as the homes are in keeping with the character of this part of Oxenhope.
The application will be decided by Bradford Council.
