LEADING local acts Foxes Faux, Felka and Caledonia Road are performing a benefit gig to tackle food poverty in Keighley.

The three bands will appear at the Sound Bites Sessions, in Central Hall on September 9, to raise cash for the Welcome Place Cafe.

The cafe specialises in providing healthy meals for people in need, who can pay as much or as little as they can afford.

The cafe recently launched a successful appeal to raise cash for immediate running costs and received £200 through a crowdfunder appeal, along with donations from visitors.

The aim of the appeal was to enable the Welcome Place to last until September, when it hopes to have won a grant to secure its future.

Tickets for the Sound Bites Sessions cost £5 in advance or £5 on the door. Local businesses have offered raffle prizes including a hairdo, meals for two and a tattoo voucher.
