JER Lane head into this week's clash with Spenser Wilson Halifax League Premier Division leaders Booth after a convincing win over Copley.

Third-change bowler Simon Collins (5-37) ended Copley’s hopes of a reasonable score, and that performance, followed by Daniel Laban (53no) saw Jer Lane home with six wickets to spare, keeping them second in the table.

Booth too go into the top-two clash off the back of a win, albeit after a few hiccups at Oxenhope.

They scrambled over the line with a two-wicket victory, largely thanks to Usman Saghir's 60 after a shaky start to their batting.

Despite Warley’s Luke Duckitt taking 7-66, Thornton managed to squeeze a nine-run win, with Joshua Hutchinson (89) and Ryan Brooksbank (51) the mainstays of their innings.

Five Thornton bowlers shared the wickets to cement their fourth place in the table, with three of those for Hutchinson in a great performance.

The basement battle at Queensbury went the way of Northowram Hedge Top, making the hosts firm favourites to be relegated this season as they trails their rivals by 16 points with five matches to play.

Tom Watson (43no) unfortunately ran out of partners as the home side capitulated for only 115 and, while the visitors lost their top five batsman quickly, Harry Talbot came to the rescue with 53 not out to secure maximum points.

The promotion race from Division One took on a new look thanks to Cullingworth’s defeat of leaders Sowerby Bridge, with only three points now separating the top three.

The match promised to be a tight affair, so the manner of the home side’s seven-wicket defeat was a huge surprise.

That was sprung by the combination of Dave Robinson (7-44) and the in-form Ben Birkill (73no), who sealed the Cullingworth victory.

Elsewhere, Great Horton Park Chapel beat Shelf by four wickets, Waseem Chaudhry's bowling (5-25) followed by an impressive 40 from Adam Beesley to ensure the win.

In the Second Division, Clayton were surprisingly defeated at Greetland, bowled out for a meagre 68 after Sajid Ali took 5-30.

The home side struggled to their 72-6 winning total, but the fifth win of the season was most welcome.

There was victory on the road for Low Moor Holy Trinity though, despite the efforts of Old Town’s Mohammed Jamil (45) and Mohammad Khan (43) in a bid to reach 163.

Mark Stokes (5-28) and Craig Green (4-67) ensured a 13-run victory for the visitors.
