EARLY years staff at Glusburn Community Primary School were given a huge thank you by children moving up to key stage one.

Dressed in their graduation clothes, the children performed songs and spoke about their time in the reception classes.

The children were presented with Learning Journals which documented their work, friendships and experiences while in the unit, through photographs and written observation from staff.

The unit is led by Head of Early Years, Linsey Sanderson, who also worked as an Early Years Foundation Stage moderator for the local authority this year.

She said: “Wonderful evening, awesome kids and supportive parents - I'm very grateful to you all for making our school such an amazing place to learn and work!"

The unit will welcome close to 100 children to its new combined nursery and reception unit in September.

The school will also expand with two new classrooms being installed over the summer holiday period.
