A KEIGHLEY councillor this morning condemned as "barbaric" the terrorist atrocity in Barcelona.
Thirteen people were killed and dozens injured when a van ploughed into locals and tourists on the popular Las Ramblas yesterday afternoon.
So-called Islamic State said it had carried out the attack.
Keighley Central councillor Zafar Ali said: "It was a despicable and barbaric act and my heart goes out to all those affected.
"Killing innocent people is nothing to do with religion.
"People who carry out this sort of atrocity are simply exploiting the name of religion and trying to create hatred and animosity.
"They cannot be allowed to succeed."
