BAILDON Trinity Athletic played with ten men for an hour and had a stand-in goalkeeper but still managed a 1-1 draw at home to Kellingley Welfare in Division Two of the West Yorkshire League.

Both teams started well, cancelling each other out in the early exchanges, but the visitors broke the deadlock with a Robert Anderson shot that went through a cluster of players and crept into the net.

However, it took Baildon only five minutes to equalise when Lee Newall's corner went in direct.

Trinity were reduced to ten men on the half-hour mark when Ben Craven's reckless challenge led to a red card.

This proved to be the turning point for Kellingley, who took control of the match, but thanks to a man-of-the-match performance from stand-in goalkeeper and assistant manager Danny Milner, the game finished all-square.

Milner said: “We had to play most of the match with only ten players but we battled hard for a well-deserved point."

Field Reserves are top of Alliance Division One after winning both of their matches.

Dan Broadway (2) and Danny Farrar scored for Field in their 3-2 win against Oxenhope Recreation Reserves, Andrew Fox and Jason McGee netting for the losers, and man of the match Glyn Hirst (3), Joe Vickers and Kieran Suddards were on target in their 5-1 demolition of Headingley Reserves.
