A POPULAR Keighley rock ‘n’ roll covers band has announced gigs for the early autumn at two of their favourite venues.

Blue Suede Dudes will be returning to the Cross Hills Social Club on September 2 and the New Inn, Wilsden, on October 7.

Blue Suede Dudes play a host of classic 1950s and 1960s songs by the likes of Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers and Jerry Lee Lewis.

The band is made up of veteran musicians Roger Kirby, Lee Kitson and Dale Kitson, who came together for Dale’s 50th birthday to play 50s classics.

The reception from partygoers was so strong that they decided to head for the pub and club circuit with their act.

Roger was recently reunited with fellow members of his earlier band Single File, a popular draw in Keighley pubs during the 1980s, as the trio played a packed-out 30th anniversary gig in Skipton.
