AUSTRALIAN Travis Nightingale was the batting hero as Keighley Under-25s won the Keighley Cup, beating holders Ingrow St John’s by eight wickets in the final at Lawkholme Lane on Sunday.

Nightingale was named man of the match for his innings of 72 not out, including 14 fours as Keighley passed their 111-run winning target with 4.3 overs to spare.

He was also top scorer in the six-wicket win over Harden in the semi-finals.

The cup was presented to Keighley captain Andy Wear by Wilf Scarborough, chairman of the Keighley Cup Committee.

The season-long competition is expected to raise some £600, the bulk of which will go to the Manorlands Hospice and the remainder to the Upper Airedale Junior League.

The total will include £228 donated by Keighley Cricket Club as part of the proceeds raised on finals day.
