APPEALS have been lodged after planners rejected schemes at Harden and Oakworth.

Applicant Umar Ul-Haq had sought permission to raise the roof height and build two-storey extensions at 11 Ferrands Park Way, Harden.

But Bradford Council said the proposal would result in an "unwelcome over-development of the site" and its proximity to neighbouring homes would be overbearing.

Officers added that there was inadequate off-street parking provision.

Meanwhile, an appeal is also under way after the council threw out a bid to change the use of an agricultural building and adjoining land at Westfield Farm, Tim Lane, Oakworth, to residential.

Planners said the proposal failed to comply with part of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order, with proposed stone walling extending the building's dimensions.

The appeal is being dealt with on the basis of written representations.
