STUDENTS at Beckfoot Oakbank School in Keighley are celebrating some top-class GCSE results.

Outstanding performers included Eleanor Procter, who achieved two A*s, five As, two Bs and one C.

She plans to head to university after studying biology, philosophy and ethics, and psychology in the sixth form.

Emily Robinson gained three As, three Bs and three Cs.

"I did so much better than I ever expected to," she said.

Emily is now going to Craven College in Skipton to do business studies, art and geography and would like to study art and design at university.

Hannah Wedge was also delighted with her results – an A*, seven As, two Bs and a distinction.

She will be staying on into the sixth form and studying biology, chemistry and English language and literature.

Eventually she wants to study bio chemistry or a science-related subject at uni.

Kai Hewitt said she found the exams difficult but she notched-up four A*s, two As, four Bs and a distinction*.

She is going to study English literature, art and philosophy and ethics in sixth form and wants to read English at university.

Kieran Picken gained an A*, A, four Bs and four Cs.

"I'm very pleased with my maths result and am planning to study maths in sixth form – but I'm unsure what other subjects to do as the results exceeded my expectations," he said.

He hopes ultimately to become an architect or interior designer or work in a career related to graphic design.

Lucy Trevors' ambition is to become an RAF fighter pilot or a theoretical physicist.

She achieved five A*s, three As, two Bs and a distinction.

In the sixth form, she will study maths, further maths and physics.

Nathan Snowden is the first Beckfoot Oakbank student to gain an A in GCSE engineering.

In total he earned six As, two Bs and a C.

He will now do a higher-level apprenticeship with Fives Landis for the next four years.

And Afsan Uddin hopes eventually to study dentistry or enrol on some form of medical course at uni.

He picked up one A*, four As and four Bs and will now do chemistry, biology and psychology in sixth form.
