FARSLEY Celtic's unbeaten start to life in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division came to an end as they suffered a slender 1-0 defeat at Shaw Lane to a goal by one of their former players.

Damian Reeves, a former Celt, Bradford Park Avenue and Guiseley striker, netted the game's only goal just over 20 minutes from time, a minute after coming off the substitutes bench.

Farsley had their own chances, with Ryan Serrant – another familiar face – almost scoring an own goal, an Adam Clayton header clipping the crossbar and Ducks keeper Jon Stewart making a fine save to foil Ben Atkinson.

The defeat drops Farsley from second to fourth if the table, with Shaw Lane leapfrogging their visitors into third place.

There was also no joy for BRIGHOUSE TOWN in Division One North as they lost 3-2 following a red card early in the second half at home to Yorkshire rivals Tadcaster Albion.

Town were cruising after goals from Jacob Buchanan and Aaron Martin inside the first six minutes.

They held that 2-0 lead at the break but just three minutes into the second half, goalkeeper Chandler Hallwood was shown a straight red card after a clash with Taddy's former Avenue striker Tom Corner.

With no keeper on the bench, Town boss Vill Powell sent Iwan Heeley on as a stand-in, with Buchanan making way. Connor Sellars netted the resulting penalty and two goals inside a minute late on saw the visitors take all three points.

Aiden Savory equalised ten minutes from time and Danny Frost slotted past Heeley just 60 seconds later.
