KEIGHLEY Bus Company is part of an initiative designed to improve travel connections between destinations across the country.

It and other arms of Transdev have teamed-up with intercity coach operator Megabus to offer through tickets to a host of towns and cities.

Passengers just need to make a single change at Leeds Bus and Coach Station.

Add-on single fares from Keighley to join Megabus coaches in Leeds will be £3.

More than 40 locations, from Inverness to Plymouth, will be served.

And the venture means that passengers travelling to Yorkshire will be able to make onward journeys using the same system, to destinations including Keighley.

The scheme – to be launched on Monday (Sept 4) – also includes Transdev's Cityzap, Coastliner and Harrogate Bus Company brands.

All of Transdev's frequent bus services into Leeds will form part of the offer, including the Keighley Bus Company route 60.

The company's chief executive officer, Alex Hornby, said: "This amazing deal joins up travel between Yorkshire's finest cities and towns and an impressive list of destinations right across the country.

"It really couldn't be simpler to transfer between our buses and Megabus intercity coaches at Leeds Bus and Coach Station – we're literally a few steps apart – and we've put everything together to make it easy to book online."

Tony Simmons, operations director with Megabus, said the partnership would make travel across the UK "even easier" for customers.

"This is a great opportunity for passengers travelling on our services to and from Leeds to reach their final destination in an easy way," he said.
