THE crowds turned out in force to support a memorial fun day and charity rugby matches in memory of Keighley teenager Callum Mynott.

The event was held on Saturday (September 16) to raise cash for the cancer charity for young people, CLIC Sargent.

Callum, who was known as CJ, lived in Stockbridge and died in October 2015.

The event in his memory was staged at Keighley Albion Rugby Club's base at Crossflatts Cricket Club.

Helen Banks, Callum's aunt, said: "It went really well and we've so far raised £1,240.

"The weather was a bit hit and miss but it didn't put people off. We still had a good turnout and people just went into the tents whenever the showers came.

"We did this event last year and made £800, so have done even better this time. Every little helps.

"Callum's dad David and stepmother Donna would like to thank everyone who came along, and all who helped out on the day."

A signed Bradford City Football Club shirt, donated by H2 Roe Plumbing, was auctioned off at the fun day. Other lots at the auction included an executive meal-for-four day experience at Keighley Cougars.

Several rugby matches were held, with Callum's older brother Danny among the players. He wore a number nine CJ Mynott shirt, in memory of his brother.

Also featuring at the occasion were cake stalls, a barbecue, live music and a bouncy castle.
