A PAIR of pupils from Glusburn Community Primary School will be going that extra mile for charity by taking part in this year's Manorlands Starlight Hike.

Aliza Dobson, from year six and Theo Morris, who is from year five are both participating in the sponsored trek in support of the hospice, and their efforts have been recognised by their school.

Yesterday, (Sept 21) these children also demonstrated their community spirit by serving lunch, in return for donations, to residents of Sunnybank sheltered housing.

The 10-kilometre marshalled Starlight hike route on September 30 takes in Oxenhope and surrounding villages whilst also passing through the hospice grounds.

It includes the Manorlands' Starlight Avenue, which is a quiet area of reflection where participants will be able to display a star dedicated to people's loved ones.

Crossing the finishing line, each walker will be be given a well-deserved bite to eat and a goody bag, rewarding their contribution to help Keighley district people living with serious illnesses.
