A KEIGHLEY school's inauguration of its school mayor was accompanied by a visit from the town mayor of Keighley.

The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Victories Primary School (OLV) earlier this month. (Sept)

Head of school Paul Booth said: "We were joined by the mayor of Keighley Councillor Mohammed Nazam, who presented our new school mayor, year six pupil Ramani Chadwick, with her chains of office.

"Our own new mayor and her three deputies, who are Thomas Devlin, Lia Renju, and Daniel Burns, were all voted in by all the other children in school.

"In her acceptance speech our new mayor Ramani thanked Cllr Nazam for coming to OLV School.

"She then promised the children that she would always try her best to represent our school by setting an outstanding example for others to follow, and by making OLV a happy, exciting and friendly place to be.”
