A MAN who served Keighley Community Transport (KCT) as a volunteer driver for 25 years has been recognised for his service.
Robert Nicholson was presented with a commemorative tankard by KCT chairman Gary Pedley.
Mr Pedley said he had been honoured to award this gift, adding: "Our board of trustees arranged a meal for Mr Nicolson and his wife Nell on his retirement from KCT, and presented him with the tankard to mark his length of his service. We also gave a bouquet of flowers to his wife.
"Robert began as a volunteer mini bus driver with KCT in 1992, and in recent years was elected to serve on the board of trustees.
"Due to ill health Robert has now decided to retire from his role in KCT.
"The board of trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank him and his wife Nell for their many years of dedicated service to KCT and the local community.
"Robert's tireless dedication to the local community coupled with his pleasant and caring manner has been a shining example to all at KCT.
"He will be sadly missed by the many groups that he has served over the years."
