A KEIGHLEY man's group which begins its new season next Thursday (Oct 5) is welcoming its newest president.
Roger Moody has become president of the Keighley & District Men's Forum, and has taken over from Frederick Ahern.
Mr Moody, 69, lives in Addingham.
Prior to his retirement he worked for 28 years from leaving school for Legal & General Insurance in Leeds.
His career took a significant turn in 1994 when he left the firm to become a mobile windscreen repair technician, subsequently becoming the franchise holder for most of West and North Yorkshire.
Although Mr Moody was brought up in Wakefield, he moved to Addingham in 1978.
He retired in 2013 since when he has devoted himself to his hobbies which include photography, steam trains and walking. By his own admission, he is also a "total petrol head".
The Keighley & District Men's Forum starts its latest season next Thursday at the Keighley Playhouse, in Devonshire Street, when Mr Moody will be formally introduced to his role.
Forum meetings are at 10.15am each Thursday with the doors of the Playhouse opening from 9.30am. Men's forum activities include slideshows, talks, trips, walks and an annual lunch. Non-members are welcome.
