SUTTON farmer David Airey has no reason to feel sheepish.
He has won the annual Swaledale wether lambs show at Skipton Auction Mart for the first time.
And after taking the top prize, his 25-strong pen went on to sell for £35 per head.
Mr Airey farms a 1,000-acre moorland site with his son, Matthew.
Second prize went to another South Craven farmer, Andrew Ogden, from Cowling.
The show judge was Anthony Hewetson.
The event formed part of the fortnightly sale of over 8,000 store and gimmer lambs.
"The lambs sold to an overall average of £53.65," said a spokesman.
"Buyers were understandably slightly more cautious given a recent fall in prime prices."
