A COWLING man has been banned from driving again – after failing to realise he needed to re-take his test after being disqualified.
Robert Bonser, 35, who was initially banned from driving in 2006, was stopped by police in a Peugeot 206 at Cross Hills on May 23 because the car was showing up as uninsured and he as a disqualified driver.
Skipton Magistrates' Court heard he was also stopped in March for the same reasons, and he was handed eight penalty points at Northallerton Magistrates' Court in August.
The Skipton was told Bonser, who admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance on May 23, told the officer he was no longer banned from driving.
Magistrates endorsed his licence with eight penalty points, banning Bonser, of Carr Meadows, for six months under the totting-up procedure. He was also fined £420 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £42.
