POLICE were this week continuing their search for the body of a missing man.

Officers said inquiries were ongoing in the Denholme and Oxenhope areas in the hunt for Tyron Charles.

The 29-year-old hasn't been seen since September 6.

Police teams, including an underwater search unit, initially concentrated their operation on Doe Park Water Activities Centre in Denholme and nearby locations.

But the area was subsequently extended to include Oxenhope Moor, with specialist sniffer dog teams being drafted in from the Northumbria force.

And forensics officers have examined a house in Bingley, where Mr Charles used to live.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Griffiths, said public help was still being sought in the case.

"We have not received any recent reported sightings of Mr Charles and this sustains our belief that he has come to serious harm," he added.

“We're continuing to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard from him on or after Wednesday, September 6, or anybody who has any information, however small it may seem, to come forward."

Anyone able to help is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiries Team on 101, quoting reference 13170414379.

Trained officers are supporting Mr Charles' family.

A 28-year-old Denholme man has appeared at Bradford Crown Court charged with Mr Charles' murder.

James Sutcliffe, of Hillcrest Road, did not enter a plea during proceedings.

He was remanded in custody until his next hearing on October 19.
