A MAN found with 59 wraps of heroin and cocaine in his bedroom has been spared jail after a court heard he was “used” by drug dealers.

The drugs were found at the home of Gavin Cross, 31, in Belgrave Road, Keighley, on December 1, 2015.

He was being treated in Airedale Hospital at the time and after being released to a different address, wasn’t arrested until earlier this year.

He pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, but Bradford Crown Court heard that threats had been made against him to agree to store the drugs.

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, said there was police intelligence to back up Cross’ claims and said he had been used by “very ruthless people”.

Cross was jailed for 12 months, suspended for a year, and given a 30-day rehabilitation requirement.
