MUSIC lovers impressed by the KVU Singers at their concert this weekend can join them three days later!

The award-winning Sutton-based choir will present their annual Young Performers Concert on Sunday, October 15 at Christ Church in Skipton.

The singers will take the stage at 2.30pm alongside some of the best child performers in the North of England.

Then on Wednesday, October 18 the KVU Singers will welcome all comers to their base at South Craven Baptist Church for an open rehearsal.

People can join existing members, under the baton of musical director Frank Smith, as they begin rehearsals for this year’s Christmas concert.

A choir spokesman said: “We are currently looking to recruit new members, particularly in the tenor and bass sections.

“If you enjoy the evening and decide that you would like to join us, you will find details about the process on the website kvusingers.co.uk/sing-with-us.”

Admission is free to the event at the church in Holme Lane, Sutton, which runs from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

KVU Singers, a mixed-voice choir formed in 1906, has hosted an annual Young Performers Concert now for several years.

The choir spokesman said: “This is a chance for the choir to showcase some exceptional young musical talent and to give them the opportunity to perform in public. It is a greatly anticipated event.”

This year’s four guests include Nathan Li, 13, a student at Cheetham’s School of Music in Manchester, who will play piano and cello. He also plays violin and the organ.
