BIG AND bold blues rock can be heard this month at Keighley’s Octagon as Chantel McGregor returns.

Bingley promoters BAC2Live are bringing back the Bradford-born singer in a concert jointly organised by the Octagon and Keighley Blues Live.

BAC2Live usually stage their concerts concert at Bingley Arts Centre, but are travelling along Bradford Road to Sandbeds for the latest show, on Saturday October 28 at 7pm.

Chantel was last seen in the district headlining the 2016 Bingley Blues Bash, organised by BAC2Live, winning a standing ovation from the sold-out crowd.

Since then Chantel has been constantly touring the UK and Europe to promote her album Lose Control.

At the Keighley gig, she will also perform new songs written on the road for her next album.

Chantel McGregor is a rock guitarist with a reputation for wowing with her instrumental skills.

A guitar prodigy, at 14, McGregor was told by major labels that she had a “great voice, but girls don’t play guitar like that!”.

Wisely ignoring the comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history to achieve a 100 per cent pass mark, with 18 distinctions.

Chantel left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. She stepped out into the pro-musician world and her gigs draw crowds of guitar enthusiasts.

Early in her career, Chantel was invited to perform with Joe Bonamassa, on two of his UK tours before she released her 2011 debut album Like No Other.

The album was described as a beautifully-crafted debut album that showcased Chantel’s versatility and talent as a singer-songwriter.
