BECKFOOT Oakbank students joined thousands of other children and young people in supporting World Mental Health Day.
Students were allowed to wear yellow accessories such as a head band, brooch, socks and nail varnish.
In return the youngsters were asked to make a cash donation, with proceeds going to the YoungMinds charity.
The charity supports young people, campaigning for change and producing leaflets that have been well received by the Beckfoot Oakbank students.
Ruth Simpson, coordinator of the school’s Tic Tac teenage advice service, said the school was proud to support World Mental Health Day.
She said: “Lots of our students go through tough times and struggle with mental health difficulties.
“The school works hard to support them all year round but World Mental Health Day was special because hundreds of staff and students came to school wearing yellow to show they care.
“We ran World Mental Health day lessons. The student leaders from the Support Squad committee were on hand to raise awareness and collected £129 for YoungMinds charity.
“In my role as Well-Being Lead I will continue look for ways we can work across the school to help students feel happy and healthy and able to make the most of their school years.”
