OVERHANGING and untended trees are causing nuisance and damage in an Oxenhope street, according to a village resident.
The woman, who did not want to be named, raised the issue at a meeting of Oxenhope Parish Council.
She said the trees were becoming a problem in parts of Moorhouse Lane, where they have obstructed a pavement, damaged a wall, obscured signs and blocked a street light.
She noted that in one location, tree roots were causing the surface of the pavement to break up, and asked what the parish council could do to address the situation.
Councillor Ken Eastwood, chairman of the parish council, said while this body did not itself have the power to tackle these problems it could raise the issue directly with Bradford Council.
He said Oxenhope Parish Council is already aware of similar problems with overhanging trees in Mill Lane and Cross Lane.
Cllr Eastwood said the parish council would contact the district council's Highways Department about the trees in Moorhouse Lane.
