SILSDEN angler Steve Newns landed an impressive perch to win a match at the Shrewsbury River Classic Festival.
His 4lb 4½oz specimen formed part of a winning catch of 11lb 4oz which pocketed him £350 prize money.
He also netted two other perch weighing 2lb 5oz and 2lb 13oz, along with a few small roach.
Due to the river being high, Newns targeted a 5ft deep slack with a two-gram flat float on 4lb line and used lob tail, chopped worms and caster.
Newns admitted it felt like 'deja vu' as 12 months previously he landed a 4lb 8oz perch using the same method in winning the Burton-on-Trent Angling Festival.
