BRADFORD Park Avenue Under-19s are out of the Northern Alliance Pat Rice League Cup following their 2-1 loss at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Avenue weathered an early onslaught from Worsborough, goalkeeper Alfie Stevens-Neale making some fine saves.
Town finally breached the Avenue defence to take a 1-0 lead into the half-time break, and a fine free-kick in the second half put Bridge further in front.
Good play by Ross Boyle, Hamzah Ikram and Tom Conlon enabled Brad Oliver to reduce the arrears.
Avenue's manager Alex Meechan said: "Our goal set up a thrilling last few minutes as we searched for an equaliser against our opponents, who were the holders, but it wasn't to be."
The Flexible Football West Riding County FA Under-21 Floodlit League matches between Brighouse Town and Campion, plus Thackley's clash with the i2i International Academy, were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
