HAWORTH Steampunk Weekend will return for its fifth year this month.

The village will be hosting the increasingly popular event on the weekend of November 24, 25 and 26.

As in previous years the occasion is expected to attract hundreds of steampunk enthusiasts from across the region, dressed in the costumes and accessories which characterise this genre of science fiction. There will also be dancers, street entertainers and classic vehicles on display.

Steampunk imagines an alternative reality where steam powered technology and antiquated designs and fashions continue to dominate society.

Visitors to Haworth can expect to see elaborate, painstakingly put together outfits featuring goggles, personalised replica vintage guns, bizarre headgear and much more.

The paid evening events include a steampunk burlesque show on November 24, but tickets for this have already sold out.

On November 25 there will be a steampunk masquerade ball at 7.30pm in Haworth Village Hall and Community Hub in Butt Lane.

The ball will include performances by Captain of the Lost Waves, Alice's Night Circus and The Storm Trees.

Visit brownpapertickets.com/event/3049716 to book tickets.

Markets will be at Haworth Village Hall and West Lane Methodist Church from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on the Sunday.

Organisers of the weekend have appealed for people to support the entertainments, which will be raising money for Manorlands.
