ORGANISERS of a comedy night in Cowling have donated cash to sporty kids and mountain rescue volunteers.
The village’s High Adventure Centre raised more than £2,000 with a recent event featuring top comedian Tom Wrigglesworth.
The organisers have now presented cheques for £14 each to Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, South Craven School PE department and the Alzheimer’s Society.
High Adventure manager Mick Ellerton is also a member of the fell rescue group.
High Adventure held its first two comedy nights at its Cowling premises, but due to the popularity has switched venues for the next event on May 11 next year.
The night will be at the Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton, whose owners Malcolm and Karen Weaving have agreed to provide the venue for free. One of the beneficiaries will be Mr Weaving’s chosen charity Petal.

Tom Wrigglesworth, an Edinburgh-Fringe comedian renowned for a disarmingly charming delivery, was joined on the Cowling stage by comedy musician Duncan Oakley and compere Dan Nightingale.
