AN independent travel agents which opened one year ago is marking its first birthday and also aims to give kids in hospital some Christmas cheer.
Hays Travel, at Cooke Lane in the Airedale Shopping Centre, opened its doors on December 1 2016.
On Friday of next week (Dec 1) staff at the travel agents will be offering buns and cakes to customers to celebrate a year of trading in the town.
But the business is now appealing for public support to help it put a smile on the faces of children and young people who will spend this Christmas in Airedale Hospital.
Travel consultant Debbie Wharton said: "We're asking people to buy an extra gift this Christmas suitable for youngsters aged up to 16.
"These can be toys, or maybe toiletries for the older teenagers, and they only need to be new and unwrapped.
"People can leave these at our office opposite Argos before December 15, and we'll be taking all the gifts to Airedale Hospital's Children's Ward on December 16."
