A WOMAN originally from Keighley who created a multi-million pound charity campaign in 2014 has announced her next major fundraising effort.

Fiona Cook, 22, and her 17-year-old sister Faye Cunningham will embark upon a project they are calling Challenge Twelve.

During 2018 this will include 12 challenges in 12 months for 12 charities.

For each month next year the pair will be tackling a different unusual or physically demanding feat, raising cash for a new good cause each time.

Fiona now lives in Buckingham but went to Oakbank School. Her family, including Faye who is a law and psychology student, still live in Ingrow.

She said: "In 2014 I created the #NoMakeUpSelfie campaign, which went viral and raised £8.6 million for Cancer Research UK in six days.

"It also raised a lot of money for other cancer charities, but the full amount was never recorded.

"Challenge Twelve is all confirmed and good to go.

"We are very excited about our next fundraising event and our current target is £12,000 but I truly believe this could be another campaign that goes viral."

The sisters' 12 months of fundraisers will begin in January, with Fiona and Faye taking on a London Tube Station Challenge in aid of the charity MIND.

This involves visiting all 270 tube stations in just two days, taking a photo of each station sign along the way.

Over the next 11 months in 2018 the sisters will also be raising money for Help for Heroes, Macmillan Cancer Support, The National Autistic Society, British Heart Foundation, The BIG Issue Foundation and other worthy causes.

Among the arduous and adventurous physical activities they will carry out to generate this cash will be a sky dive, a 25-mile run, the Tough Mudder assault course, a 50-mile cycle, a 50-kilometre walk, a moonlight walk up Mount Snowdon and a night of sleeping rough outdoors.

Fiona, who is a marketing and events manager for a hospitality company, said: "The challenges we have chosen range from leisurely, moderate, tough and very difficult.

"I believe it will put our mental ability and physical fitness to the test, but it will also give us a feeling of accomplishment after the challenge is completed.

"I have been fundraising and creating social media campaigns for charities for around five to six years now and can't stop!

"Faye has always been passionate about wanting to raise money for different charities.

"She has never done anything like this before and is looking forward to going out of her comfort zone.

"The total fundraising amount we raise will be split into 12 smaller amounts, and sent to each charity that we've done a challenge for."
