A FREE Christmas Day bus service will be on offer in Keighley again next month, continuing a 23-year tradition for the town.

This year, instead of being run by Keighley Bus Museum Trust, it will be managed by fully qualified volunteers from the Town & District Transport Trust, which is based in West Yorkshire and East Lancashire.

A spokesman for the trust said: "All the drivers are fully qualified Passenger Carrying Vehicle licence holders.

"The buses we shall use on the service were built in the 1990s, and whilst not really vintage in the true sense of the word they will provide a warm and comfortable journey during this cold part of the year.

"The free services will run from 10am to 4pm to the same established timetable that has run in previous years."

The man bus stop for all the routes will be outside the Wetherspoon Livery Rooms, in North Street.

Routes will include number 17 to Oakworth, returning via Fell Lane, the number 18 circular to Guard House and Braithwaite the number 19 to Oxenhope and Haworth and the number 19 to Airedale Hospital.
