CHILDREN and staff at a Keighley district primary school threw themselves into the spirit of this year's Children in Need appeal and raised £887.

On November 17 Sutton Community Primary School staged a fun-filled day to generate this cash.

Children were invited to come along dressed in clothes meant to portray their dreams for the future.

They were invited to join in apple bobbing, penalty shootouts, treasure trails and colouring competitions.

Higher level teaching assistant Kirsty Ibbotson said: "We held a raffle and a bun sale and classes worked together to create their own Pudsey Bear.

"We finished the day laughing and cheering as we watched the teachers squirm as they took part in our annual ‘I’m a teacher, get me out of here’ eating trial.

"Thanks to our supportive parents, fabulous children and brave staff, we were able to make memories as well as raising an outstanding £887.16 for Children in Need."

Head teacher Fiona Beetles said: "This fundraising sum isn't bad for a school of just 200 children. Our staff and pupils are amazing!"
