A FORMER Oakbank School student has become a rising star in the music world after releasing four singles.

Isaac Tyler, 20, will this month show a hometown audience what the fuss is about, as well as guesting on another new recording.

Isaac has been described by his publicist as a “modern Heathcliff” with a broody, aching voice and songs to match.

He has co-written material for the latest EP by Yorkshire folk duo The Dunwells – released last week – and also sings on one of the tracks.

He will perform his own material in York on December 16 as part of BBC Radio York’s Introducing Christmas Children in Need event.

The following day Isaac will perform during an acoustic afternoon at the Brew House, Mill Hey, Haworth.

Isaac’s single releases have charted on itunes, become a Radio York record of the week, and been played on Huw Stephens’s Radio One show.
