A PARKSIDE School student has won another prize for her peanut and pork Thai curry.

Imogen Pickles won the local final of the Future Chef competition after serving the curry, followed by lemon meringue mousse.

Imogen and Tasha Nasir, a fellow pupil at the Cullingworth school, competed in the local final after winning the school heat of the national contest.

The pair were surprised to see that one of the judges was former Parkside student Jake Taglione, who won the Future Chef contest last year.

Parkside food technology teacher Sarah Trowers said the girls competed against students of five other schools, and both did brilliantly and represented the school extremely well.

She said: “It was great to see Jake and talk to him about his studies at Leeds College. He’s studying Level 3 Catering and he’s also just been taken on at Jamie’s Italian in Harrogate!

“Imogen will now compete in the regional final in York in February and be mentored by a chef from Gather and Gather in Leeds.”
