BOXING Day bus services will again run across the Keighley district.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority has announced it is funding services on over 70 routes throughout the region.

Buses will link main city and town centres, retail locations and hospitals, including Airedale, between 9am and 6pm.

Normal fares will apply, but all MCards, concessionary passes and operators' season tickets will be valid.

Councillor Keith Wakefield, chairman of the combined authority's transport committee, said: "This is the tenth year we have funded these Boxing Day bus services.

"They ensure people across West Yorkshire have access to transport to and from the main areas where shops will be open and enable them to meet up with family and friends, visit people in hospital and enjoy special events.

"It also helps support the local economy and jobs."

He added that last year, the initiative saw people make 65,000 journeys.

Services operating locally will include: 60 Leeds-Rodley-Greengates-Shipley-Keighley; 66 Keighley-Airedale Hospital, hourly; 620 Haworth-Bradford-Bierley; 662 Keighley-Bradford; K3 Keighley-Braithwaite, hourly; K7 Keighley-Oakworth, hourly, and K9 Keighley-Bracken Bank, hourly.
