A LEADING gardener is giving a talk at Glusburn.
David Allison will speak about new vegetable and fruit varieties.
The event – in the baths hall at the Community and Arts Centre, Colne Road, at 7.30pm on Friday (Dec 15) – is being staged by Glusburn and Cross Hills Gardening Society, but anyone is welcome to attend.
"David helped us launch earlier this year with some excellent talks to inspire gardeners and allotment holders both old and new," said a society spokesman.
"This time he will be talking about new varieties, hopefully in time to help growers try out something different in the New Year."
Admission is £4 – or £3 for members – including mince pies, coffee and tea.
Mr Allison is a National Vegetable Society judge and until recently was the organisation's national chairman.
He edited its magazine for four years and has published a series of books.
He's also a member of Royal Horticultural Society committees and a lecturer.
