KEIGHLEY'S annual civic carol service will be held at the beginning of next week.

The event, called The Big Carol Service, will be staged on Monday December 18 at 7pm in Keighley Shared Church.

A spokesman for the organisers said: "All Keighley residents are welcome to come along and to bring family and friends.

"Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis, and mince pies will be served afterwards.

"The Big Carol Service will be hosted by the shared church in partnership with Keighley Town Council and will be led by town chaplain Reverend Dr Jonathan Pritchard.

"Town mayor Councillor Mohammed Nazam and other civic guests will be in attendance.

"The candlelit evening promises to be an atmospheric occasion and an opportunity to hear traditional Christmas music and readings."
