CULLINGWORTH students laid on Christmas lunch for a group of elderly villagers.
The sixth formers from Parkside School donned festive costumes to cook and serve the community meal.
Sixth form progress leader Phillip Logan said: “The students did a wonderful job at preparing and serving food, decorating the St John's Church function room, helping people in and out of the building, and entertaining guests."
The students involved were Matthew Worstead, Alex Collier, Becky Griggs, Alana Wharton, Eloisa Sunter and Skye Lintott.
The sixth form at Parkside School is heavily involved with Cullingworth’s pensioners after taking over the running of its Over-60s Club when it was threatened with closure after 50 years.
Pupils volunteer their time every week to help run sessions, and have invited members to the school for events like tea parties.
Parkside School students Josh Bingham and Paul Mercer recently ran chair aerobics with the seniors as part of their Sports Leaders course.
Health and social care students had a ‘speed dating session with Over-60s members to learn as much as possible about them.
