HAWORTH residents took part in two community clean-ups during the autumn in a quiet corner of the village.
About 20 volunteers each time cleared land around Ebor Lane and Bridgehouse Beck, improving a nature area and the slope down to the back, which was covered in years of litter.
The first clean-up took place around a footpath off Ebor Lane to the nature area, which forms part of the Railway Children walk.
The second day, carried out with support from Haworth Masons, focused on the Mill Hey side of the beck. The clean-ups were arranged after residents expressed concerns about the neglected state of the banks of the beck.
Haworth Browside was also the focus of environmental work last year, starting with a resident survey about issues in the neighbourhood.
An action day saw volunteer litter pickers clean-up as many streets as possible, with help from Bradford Council’s gully wagon and mechanical sweepers.
The youth shelter on Apsley Street received a facelift.
