THREE men were arrested for handling stolen goods following a house raid by Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Officers led by Sgt Pete Softley recovered bags full of items during the early-morning raid.

Sgt Softley tweeted: “Every shoplifter and burglar needs a marketplace – well, this was closed for business today.”

In a separate incident, the NPT officers arrested two siblings in Haworth on suspicion of three attempted burglaries in the village’s Main Street before Christmas.

Sgt Softley said it was believed the suspects walked a dog at night as cover for their activities.

The NPT team were greeted warmly by Oakworth Village Society this month when they visited its meeting to update members on local crime matters.

Keighley town councillor Luke Maunsell later tweeted: “Great update from @SoftleySgt! Police on top of matters and under a great leader!”

The Keighley officers kept busy with a trip to Shipley to arrest two people suspected of being involved in a theft from a motor vehicle in Steeton.
