PLANS to set up a charcuterie cafe and record shop in Haworth are being considered by Bradford Council.

The proposals for 5 Mill Hey were also put before members of Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council at their latest full meeting.

An applicant wants to change the use of the property from its current classification of "professional services/business use" to allow it to accommodate the venture.

The plans have so far received backing in the form of 57 supporting letters.

One of these states: "This development will bring a vibrant and welcome addition to the village from individuals who have already added so much to Mill Hey."

Another supporter of the application has commented: "This would be a creative and innovative use of an empty space in an area of the village which is slowly being rejuvenated.

"It would benefit residents and tourists alike, bringing some cohesion to the venues already in existence."

Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury parish councillors raised no objections to the plans at their meeting on January 15.
