KEEN amateur snapper Neil Bland is in the frame.

The winner of the Keighley News photographic competition, run in association with the town's Airedale Shopping Centre, has received his prizes.

Mr Bland was presented with Argos vouchers worth £350 and his stunning picture, of a wintry Top Withens on the moors above Haworth, was scanned onto a giant canvas.

The shot was among ten fantastic images shortlisted from dozens of entries in the contest.

Mr Bland's photo earned most phone and text votes in a public poll.

Runners-up Nick Chambers and Gerard Lyness each receive a canvas of their entries, courtesy of Max Spielmann.

Retired joiner Mr Bland, 65, said he was "shocked but delighted" to win.

"I love it up at Top Withens and I took a few shots that particular day," said the Silsden Camera Club member.

"I always have my camera with me, wherever I go."

Airedale Shopping Centre manager, Steve Seymour, said the standard of entries had been outstanding.

He, together with KN chief reporter Alistair Shand and Keighley MP John Grogan, had the tough task of drawing-up a shortlist.

"We received some fantastic photos and choosing the ten finalists to enter the vote was a hugely difficult challenge," he said.

"Neil's superb photo was a very worthy winner."

Mr Shand congratulated all those who took part.

"The entries showed just what a fantastic and scenic area we're fortunate enough to live in," he said.
