OLD FRIENDS from the Keighley area are being brought back together by a new Facebook page.
Keighley Reuniting Friends has set out to put old classmates, work colleagues and neighbours back in touch with each other.
The page, run by a team of local volunteers, has already attracted a host of posts by people wishing to re-forge links with former pals.
There are currently more than 300 members, and the page features a historic picture of the old Keighley market and the Black Horse pub at the junction with Low Street.
The site states: “We all drift apart from co-workers, school friends and neighbours. Let’s try and reunite old friends.”
In one typical post, a woman shared her maiden name and school history in the 1950s and 1960s, and soon received responses from people who remembered living near her.
Another posted a potted history of their life, including a move to Brisbane in Australia, and discovered that another former Keighlian was living just 15 km away.
