AN author researching the Brontes for a new novel will be speaking at an event in Haworth in March.

Michael Stewart will be discussing his new novel, Ill Will, which focuses on Heathcliff’s lost years.

The award-winning writer, who is a senior lecturer in creative writing at the University of Huddersfield and director of the Huddersfield Literature Festival, will be at West Lane Baptist Centre on March 17.

Mr Stewart has written a number of plays and his debut novel, published in 2011, won The Guardian’s Not the Booker award.

He will speak about historic events and communities in the north of England around 1780, when Heathcliff ran off in the storm in Wuthering Heights.

The event is organised by the Bronte Society.

Tickets cost £7 and can be booked by calling 01535 640192.
