MEAL worms and locusts may not be everyone's idea of a delicious snack.

But the grub – and more edible bugs – will be on the menu when a bushtucker cafe is held in Keighley on Saturday (Feb 10).

The cafe is among a range of activities taking place in and around the Airedale Shopping Centre.

Professor Jon's flea circus will perform, and a giant praying mantis and a fly and Venus fly-trap will be walking around the town centre.

Plus there will be free face painting and balloon modelling and giveaways in the shopping centre.

The event runs from 10am to 4pm.

Behind the initiative is Keighley Business Improvement District (BID).

Manager Paul Howard said: "Over the past couple of years we've held some great events in the town centre.

"This one is a little different, but it's sure to get people excited and hopefully in the mood for more events coming up in the near future."
