THACKLEY, who are bottom of the Flexible Football West Riding County FA Under-21 Floodlit League, suffered a 5-2 defeat at leaders Harrogate Town.

After an even 30 minutes, the hosts got their first goal and this seemed to unsettle the visitors, who were 4-1 down at half-time with Nathan McDonnell getting the Thackley reply.

Thackley's discipline improved in the second half and McDonnell added his second goal.

Thackley joint-manager Nathan Priestly said: "Overall we feel disappointed not to have taken more of the chances we created.

"But after such a long lay-off from playing, we're pleased with the attitude shown from the squad and feel that the scoreline didn't reflect our performance."

Bradford Park Avenue are at the foot of the Northern Under-19 Alliance League after a humiliating 10-1 loss at AFC Emley.

Devon Ridley scored Avenue's consolation goal with a good free-kick and manager Alex Meechan reflected: "At 2-1 down, we failed to take our chances.

"We conceded three quick goals that took away any momentum we had. Emley were stronger than us."
